Sometimes you don't get more than a 30 second warning from your bowels! That's fine if you can stay home within 10 feet of your bathroom. Not great when you're at work or on the road.

What might have helped
was out of my budget

Let's face it, for most people suffering from severe constipation, money isn't always plentiful. Either your hours at work have decreased, or you're relying on your husband for support. If you're still working full-time, then you're probably blowing all your money on fast food and cleaning staff because you don't have the energy or time.

Here's how your gastrointestinal system works and where your constipation problem is taking place:

Stomach: Food enters your stomach. Acid and enzymes tear it to pieces (assuming you chewed it fine enough).

2. Small Intestine: From here your food, in a highly liquid form, begins a 5-7 meter journey. More enzymes are mixed in and the nutrients absorb through the intestinal walls.
3. Colon (AKA Large Intestine): Here waste leftovers make a journey up the right side of your abdomen, along the top and then down the left side. It's in your large intestine that water is reabsorbed. This way waste comes out firm, exiting via the rectum and anus.

or all three of the following:

a) Food, as it enters your small intestine/stomach, doesn’t contain enough liquid.
b) Your large intestine dries your stool up too much.
